What the DIFFERENCE ?
Those lacquers very, very looks like , but there is a few main differences between Matte & satin paint finishes, All secret there is how they react to light. Matte paintwork don’t reflect light at all, it is totally flat and brings surfaces look uniform – when applied to something exotic – tuning cars.
Satin is a little different , it’s a ‘semi-Matte’ finish, it means that it has an ever so slightly polished surface that can reflect just a little amount of light.
Caring For Satin +
The way in which they react to light is the crucial aspect of both Matte and satin Clear coats, and while the two do have little difference, the process to care for them is mostly the same.
Washing
This is something you’re gonna get very good at if your car have a Matte or satin lacker, as it’s the most important moment of the entire washing process. The reason that it’s SO, SO important to give your car a thorough wash with a high pressure machine before applying any kind of towels, sponge or cloth, is because neither Matte or satin finishes are NOT easy to repair if you get damaged. Even more so than their glossy “brothers””, with sand particles and other abrasives being of particular concern. Worse still, scratched Matte and satin paintwork is harder to fix than regular paint, certainly without the proper coat in question looking like a basic paint correction job.
Well! IT MUST BE CLEAR! Pre-washing with a high pressure system is all but essential.
Our techs did find a properly working shampoo to be particularly effective, and this is down to its pure, gloss enhancer-free formulation.
So Pleas use WAX-Silicon free Shampoo on your Matte car!
What Not To Use
Ok! Pre-washing aside, there are a number of other steps and products that should be avoided by anyone to safe the unique properties of Matte or satin finish.
The first super rule is that you should avoid anything that might be layered with a thick layer, should be avoided at all costs!
Second is Polishing!, that is other detailing low, should also be eschewed, and this applies regardless of quality of the product in question. Applying polish to satin or Matte finishes can dramatically and irreparably change the appearance of your paint, and the very action of polishing should be avoided at all costs if you want to preserve the unique look of your babycar.
All these materials will fill the rough surface and it will begin to reflect light!
Basically, avoid applying a too thick layer of anything, and watch out for abrasives.
